The Dorset Youth Football League

The DYFL was founded in May 2001, and was formally know as the Dorset Divisional Youth League, with the aim to administer youth football in the Under 11 to Under 16 age groups.

The competition is sanctioned by the Dorset County Football Association.

The League now consists of 49 clubs and 222 teams spread over 10 ages groups, with approximately 3,000 registered players.  Although the majority of the clubs registered with the Dorset County Football Association, there are also clubs who are registered with Hampshire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Devon.  As the Football Association allows mixed gender teams up to U16 age group, we have girls playing in the league in our teams playing since Season 2017/2018. As of Season 2019/2010 the League now runs the Dorset Girls football leagues.

In line with the Football Association’s directive for Youth Football, the U9 & U11 leagues are non-competitive and all other age groups are competitive.

The Annual League Cup is competitive in all the age groups and will be run parallel with the other fixtures. The Cup Final Date for all groups will be Sunday 10th May 2020 and will be played at Blandford School.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”Latest News” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:50|text_align:center|color:%232644ef”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row 0=””][/vc_row][vc_column 0=””][vc_basic_grid post_type=”post” max_items=”10″ grid_id=”vc_gid:1568579377553-49b57ddc-f40b-8″][/vc_column]

Dear Club Secretaries, managers, coaches, referees, players and parents,

FA UPDATE ON FOOTBALL FIXTURES THIS WEEKEND

Her Majesty the Queen was a long-standing Patron of The Football Association and has left a lasting and indelible legacy on our national game.

As a mark of respect, following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, English football has united to postpone all football fixtures between 9-11 September.

The FA can confirm that all football fixtures across the Barclays Women’s Super League, Barclays Women’s Championship, the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, and the Isuzu FA Trophy, will be postponed this weekend. We can also confirm that all football fixtures across the National League System [NLS], Steps 1-6, including the Vanarama National Leagues, the Women’s Football Pyramid [WFP], Tiers 3-7, and matches across grassroots football in England will be postponed.

The Premier League and the EFL have all confirmed that their fixtures this weekend will be rescheduled for a later date.

All flags at Wembley Stadium and St. George’s Park will continue to fly at half-mast over the weekend.

Our thoughts remain with our president, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and the whole of the Royal Family during this time.

Regards

Dave Drew

Dorset Youth Football League Chairman
