Referee Registration via Platform for Football 2023/2024

Referee Registration for the 2023/2024 season is now available using Platform For Football via:  https://refereeregistration.thefa.com/

Referees are encouraged to register online.   Should you not wish to do so then please scroll to the bottom of this page for further advice/guidance.

You should complete your registration as soon as possible.  When completing your referee registration please ensure that your personal details, including address etc are amended where applicable.

Safeguarding Requirements

ALL referees MUST have an in-date appropriate safeguarding qualification on their record in order to allow them to re-register for season 2023/24.

In the event you have not updated your Safeguarding, you will be prevented from re-registering until this has been completed – see further guidance is shown below:

This course is accessible 24/7 through FA Education’s Boot room, Safeguarding | The Boot Room (thefa.com)

  • Then Select – Safeguarding For All Qualification, and upon completion of this course, Referees will be able to Register to officiate for the 2023/24 season[1].

DBS Requirements

It is a FA requirement that all referees aged 16 and above who are officiating in ‘Youth Football’ must have completed an FA Criminal Records Check which is valid and also completed Safeguarding Children; referees who have not completed this process cannot register until such time as this has been completed, and Platform For Football will prevent you from registering until it is complete.

Should you not have an in-date FA DBS Check you will need to contact the County FA.

Equality and Diversity

Part of the Registration procedure will require referees to update their Equality and Diversity information that is currently held by the Football Association.

Referees are reminded that once you have completed your registration with the County FA, you will still be required to register with the leagues that you officiate on.

If after going to the additional support pages, you still cannot access the Platform For Football; then please carry out the following!

Send an email to alex.james@dorsetfa.com with the following information: Subject:  REFEREE REGISTRATION – WITH YOUR FAN & FULL NAME

‘State in the email the issue that you are having’, provide as much information as possible, if you can send a screen shot of what is happening on your screen, that would be really helpful as this information may need to be passed to the FA IT Department so that they can investigate the matter further.

[1] Please note having completed the Online learning it can take further 24 hours for your records to be updated on the main FA database.

Dear Club Secretaries, managers, coaches, referees, players and parents,

FA UPDATE ON FOOTBALL FIXTURES THIS WEEKEND

Her Majesty the Queen was a long-standing Patron of The Football Association and has left a lasting and indelible legacy on our national game.

As a mark of respect, following the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, English football has united to postpone all football fixtures between 9-11 September.

The FA can confirm that all football fixtures across the Barclays Women’s Super League, Barclays Women’s Championship, the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, and the Isuzu FA Trophy, will be postponed this weekend. We can also confirm that all football fixtures across the National League System [NLS], Steps 1-6, including the Vanarama National Leagues, the Women’s Football Pyramid [WFP], Tiers 3-7, and matches across grassroots football in England will be postponed.

The Premier League and the EFL have all confirmed that their fixtures this weekend will be rescheduled for a later date.

All flags at Wembley Stadium and St. George’s Park will continue to fly at half-mast over the weekend.

Our thoughts remain with our president, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, and the whole of the Royal Family during this time.

Regards

Dave Drew

Dorset Youth Football League Chairman
